Meet Renee Kern

Birth Doula

Hi, I’m Renee!
I am a compassionate doula with a deep respect for the strength and beauty that unfolds during labor and childbirth. For many years, I’ve walked alongside families as a non-certified doula, offering a peaceful presence, a comfort massage, and a grounding support during one of life’s most transformative experiences. After countless incredible birth-support moments, I’ve leaped into offering professional doula services — and I couldn’t be more excited for this journey!

I grew up at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where I learned the value of trust, patience, and connection while living on a horse farm. As a teen, gardening, mother-hening my younger siblings (much to their dismay), and assisting in the operations of an equine therapy center filled my days. In my twenties, I lived overseas doing humanitarian aid work—my time in East Africa uniquely shaped my ability to hold sacred spaces with more empathy, adaptability, and deep cultural respect.  I became a young mother at the age of 20 when I adopted my first love, and oldest daughter, nine years later I went on to adopt my second child, our spunky middle daughter, all before getting married and experiencing childbirth for the first time which brought us our third baby girl.

I became a resident of greater Charlotte area in 2021 where I worked as a professional wedding planner and event florist, and taught part time at my daughter's school.

As a birth doula, my approach is always centered on you: your body, your baby, and your birth story. Whether you seek a calming presence, informed guidance, a hype girl, or simply someone to be there, I would be honored to support you in writing your birth story.

In my free time, if you can call it that because do mothers ever really have free time? You'll likely me find me begging to take a nap, but when that's undoubtedly interrupted by my personal girl squad, I'll be watching my kids have a dance party in the kitchen while I debate what to make for dinner. Or possibly gripping the passenger door handle for dear life while reminding my teenage that stop signs are in fact not optional.

Just a regular mom who's passionate about walking alongside other expectant Mammas and helping them bring their babies earthside.
